10/02/23 Avengers/Audiences  1) who is the target audience for the avengers The target audience for the avengers was working-class, white ,30's-50's because of watershed it was aimed for an older audience and had stronger scenes e.g storylines violence  2) how did the avengers appeal to the audience  The avengers offered  escapism through a world of humour sexual tension and eroticism. it also offered  an entertaining combination of repetition and difference with new Proppain villain each week. It would appel to the audience as even though its repetitive its a new setting and characters each week. 3) how did the social cultural and historical contexts affect audiences  In the 1960's there was an increase in spy films with the first a second James bond films audiences will become more familiar with that convention they will be able to recognise Propps theories characters e.g villain, hero and helper.
